“The Future of the American Workplace”
Life in 21st Century America is punctuated by epic events, unique transitions and pervasive challenges. This fact is most apparent in the workplace. Profound transformations have altered the workplace, our understanding of work and the traditional views of employer-employee relationships.
An aging workforce, multi-generational clashes, stalled “generational shifts” and the limited transfer of institutional ‘brain trust’ are pressing American enterprises to make changes or perish. We will discuss these epic events, identify the new workplace paradigms and suggest three solutions.
Patrick H. Davis, MSW
Patrick H. Davis, MSW is a retired Human Resources Executive Recruiter who worked in the field of human services for over 20 years in both clinical settings and later in his own human resources, executive recruitment practice. As President of Global Recruitment Services, Inc., Mr. Davis consulted with Fortune 1000 companies, including American Electric Power Company, Inc., General Electric, Dow Chemical, Shell Oil and Gas, Edison International and Waste Management, Inc.
During the last 10 years of his career, he began creating a unique curriculum that examines historically unique and epic life transitions experience by adults in America, especially the Baby Boom Generation. Today, he writes and lectures on the need for essential life skills in the 21st century for adults and brings extensive practical experience to the understanding of late-life adult transitions and the change process. Through a collection of lectures, trainings, and short courses, he has created a forum for adults to discover and develop their own essential life skills for success.
Mr. Davis is the Director and Founder of the Institute For Applied Critical Thinking, an educational organization helping adults learn to think more critically about the events that influence their lives. He possesses a B.A. in Psychology/Social Psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno, and holds a Masters in Social Work from Portland State University. He recently conducted lectures at San Diego State University on late-life adult transitions

Prices: - Advanced Registration: $35.00 per person per meeting
After 3:00pm on the Friday before the event: $45.00 per person payable at the door.
Advance Registration Fees - In order for San Diego Recreation and Benefits Association to honor the advance registration price, we require you pay your entry fee in full no later than 3:00pm on the Friday before the event. For your convenience, Visa & MasterCard payments are accepted through our website at www.sdrba.com.
Payment by Check - Please send checks made out to SDRBA to: 2820 Camino Del Rio South #212 San Diego CA. 92108 Please note, your check must be postmarked by the first Wednesday of the month. That is one week prior to the event.
Refunds - There will be no refunds or credits for meeting fees. There will be no exceptions.
