Membership Overview
Membership Levels
The SDRBA offers three types of memberships: Active, Associate, and Student.
An Active member is a company which brings the discounts and services of the SDRBA to its employees and their families. Active memberships are $200.00 per year plus a one-time application fee of $25.00.
An Associate member is a company which offers to the SDRBA members its product or service at a discount not otherwise available to the general public. Associate memberships are $250.00 per year with a one-time application fee of $25.00.
A Student membership is for any student majoring or minoring in the field of employee services and recreation, or allied field, at a college or university where such training is offered. Student memberships are $95.00 per year.
Each member company designates an SDRBA representative who participates in the monthly luncheon meeting. At this meeting the SDRBA representative has the opportunity to exchange information about current SDRBA discounts and services. This information is then brought back to the company and shared with its employees.

The meeting lasts from 11:00am - 1:00pm, and a buffet luncheon is served at 12:00pm
Events Fees
Member Prices:
Advanced Registration: $20.00 per person per meeting
After 2:00pm on the Friday before the event: $30.00 per person
Non-Member Prices
$30.00 per person, per meeting.
Advance Registration Fees - In order for San Diego Recreation and Benefits Association to honor the advance registration price, we require you pay your entry fee in full no later than 2:00pm on the Friday before the event. For your convenience, Visa & MasterCard payments are accepted through our website at www.sdrba.com.
Everyone pays an attendance fee! Cash or checks made payable to SDRBA are accepted.
Guidelines for Membership

Applicant must a) have been continuously in business for more than one year, or b) have a parent business or corporation which fulfills the above.

Applicant must have a street address.

Food service provider must have and display a current health permit with their application.

Travel provider must provide proof of a current fidelity bond in the amount of $10,000 or more.

Applications must be completed in full, in detail before consideration by the membership committee.

Where an applicant offers the same or similar services to those of an existing member, a question of need for an additional applicant will arise which will afford reason for denial or deferral of an application for membership.

A person shall not be the named representative to represent more than one participating SDRBA business.

The Board of Directors shall reserve the right to deny the application of any business for good cause shown.

A separate non-refundable application fee will be required of all applicants, fee must be paid with the application before consideration by the membership committee.

No pyramid organizations shall be accepted.

A copy of a current business license must accompany all Associate applications.

Prospective members will be encouraged to provide individuals with an opportunity to take advantage of the discount as an individual vs. taking advantage of the discount as a group.
